There’s something special about fall in Leavenworth. Crisp mountain air, colorful foliage, festive weekends and the return of Oktoberfest make it one of our favorite times of year to visit Washington’s Bavarian village.

Since 2017, Patterson Cellars has had the pleasure of welcoming thousands of visitors to our Front Street tasting room in the heart of downtown Leavenworth. Located just 2.5 hours east of Seattle and surrounded by the Cascade Mountains, Leavenworth is the perfect fall getaway with wine tasting, incredible food, shopping, hiking, live music, Oktoberfest and plenty more to explore.

Our family-friendly Leavenworth tasting room is open seven days a week, offering wine tastings, sparkling flights, food and wine pairing experiences, live music, and seasonal favorites. As the temperatures begin to drop, our signature Hot Mulled Wine returns October 1st, and is served warm throughout the fall and winter months.

Bring your four-legged friends along, find a spot on our Front Street patio or cozy up inside with a glass of wine before heading out to explore town.

Whether you’re planning a weekend getaway, joining the fall festivities or simply looking for an excuse to enjoy the season in the mountains, we’ve put together some of our favorite places to eat, sip, shop, stay and explore while you’re here.

Celebrate the Start of Fall

The festivities begin before Oktoberfest! The Washington State Autumn Leaf Festival returns September 25th–27th, celebrating the arrival of fall with live entertainment, activities and plenty of seasonal fun throughout Leavenworth.

One of the highlights of the weekend is the annual Grand Parade on Saturday, September 26th, bringing floats, bands, Bavarian groups and more through town against the backdrop of Leavenworth’s changing fall colors. It’s a colorful way to kick off the season and a great excuse to spend a September weekend exploring downtown.
